Aphrodite: From Cyprus to Europe
The spread of the worship of the Cyprian goddess during antiquity is documented through archaeological research. It is transferred from Cyprus to Greece and later on to the rest of Europe and North Africa during the Hellenistic and Roman times. Aphrodite is the only goddess among the Greek pantheon whose myth continues to inspire, to a great extent, the creators of art and letters in Europe both during the Renaissance as well as today.
